This painting is part visual diary, part symbolic bouquet. It is a " progressive" piece! I collected or made items, flowers, from personal moments to build layered reflections on how we celebrate -- Christmas gatherings, summer picnics,fleeting moments of joy together as a family.
Each flower is a tribute to a different season and occasion-- an abstract floral arrangement that blooms from memories. When the canvas is full, the piece is complete. I first painted the background of the canvas board before placing the blooms.
My hope is to give this piece to my granddaughter one day in celebration of joyful family times.
