There are pieces that feel like play, and others that feel like arrival. Peacock Royale is both!
I built it from scraps-- bits of old paper, shimmered paint and old rhinestones, and Ofcourse, instinct. In this process, something bold and truly joyful emerged.
The Peacock has long symbolized resurrection, pride, and presence, but in this work, I wasn't chasing symbolism- I was chasing " delight."
The layering, the shine, the movement, all came together like a celebration of reinvention.
Every feather flicker feels like a reminder, that beauty doesn't whisper- sometimes it struts.
At 67, I am less interested in being cautious and more drawn to what makes the spirit dance. Peacock Royale is a mirror of that feeling: wild, luminous, and unapologetically alive!
